Outdoor Area with Gourmet Space Installed Inside a Shipping Container, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

About Lana Rocha Interiores

In Lana Rocha's project, the outdoor area has a gourmet space installed inside a shipping container, facing the house's pool

Located in Maricá, Rio de Janeiro, this two-story house was designed from scratch, in steel frame, by civil engineer Vinícios Motta and his wife Lara Rocha - a former lawyer, about to graduate in architecture. It was up to designer Lana Rocha, who is the owner's mother, to conceive the entire interior design, in a contemporary style.

Charming One-Bedroom Shipping Container House for £65,000 Has a Waiting List in London, England and Final Cost Can Be a Burden on the Wallet

Sale has a catch: buyers must secure their own land to accommodate the containers

A charming one-bedroom shipping container house for £65,000 has attracted buyers in London, England, to the point that a waiting list with 500 names has formed. The attractive price for the London real estate market justifies it. But there is a catch. This is the cost of a shipping container house. Anyone who buys one of them needs to have land to be able to live in it. So, depending on where the owner wants to live, the final cost of this venture could be a burden on the wallet.

The Hilda L. Solis Care First Village (HSCFV), a large-scale interim housing project providing a wide range of amenities for both the unhoused and those in transition, recently opened in Downtown Los Angeles.

“What once was supposed to be a staging area to build a new Men’s Central Jail will now serve as a safe space to address the housing, mental and behavioral health needs of our residents experiencing homelessness,” Hilda L. Solis, the Los Angeles County Supervisor that initiated the housing project in September 2020, said in an official statement. “I am proud of what we have been able to accomplish, and that is re-imagining Los Angeles County with steps toward our commitment towards realizing a Care First, Jail Last model.”
