Is there any site preparation required?
A flat and level compacted gravel pad is the minimum prep recommended. Ideally, concrete piers or a concrete slab would be used to support the full weight of a filled container pool. Options for site prep will vary based on the location/terrain. Our team will help provide guidance for appropriate site prep. Site prep is not included in the price.
How long will it take to build my SaunaPlunge?
Shipping Container SaunaPlunge takes about 10 weeks from ordering.
How are these delivered and where can you install them?
These can be delivered on a gooseneck or tilt trailer. If using a gooseneck, a crane or heavy duty rough terrain forklift will be required on site. A tilt trailer should be able to place the pool right in its prepared location if the space allows. The pools can be installed anywhere, as long as there is reasonable access for lifting equipment and trucks.
How many people can fit in the SaunaPlunge?
4 adults comfortably in the Sauna and 6 adults comfortably in water feature.

Designing unique and simple solutions to complex problems has always been one of Jon Meier's strongest attributes. Like most engineers, the founder of Backcountry Containers has always enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together. While Jon was working as an aeronautical engineer, he became intrigued by the concept of tiny living. He knew with his engineering background, he could make a unique, functional, and structurally sound dwelling space. With the support of his wife Kristen, he quit his job and built the first Backcountry Container. Kristen has always been a talented decorator and was able to balance out Jon's practical, modern design with stylish decor and rustic design finishes. The first 20 ft blue container home was an online hit and laid the foundation for what was about to become a booming business.
